Profile:

Janet Graetz recently completed her doctoral studies at George Mason University with a focus in special education. For nearly 20 years, she has taught individuals with special needs focusing on children with autism. In August, 2003 she joins the faculty at Oakland University in Michigan. Publications include Reading Comprehension Instruction for Secondary Students, Learning Disability Quarterly (in press), Getting To Know You (Fairfax County Public Schools), and Life Spaces , A Life Skills Curriculum Manual. Presentations include Effective Interventions for Students with Autism (CEC presentation with J. Fontana and S. Hardy, April, 2001). Assessing the Curriculum, and Getting to Know You (Fairfax County Public Schools, 1999) , Linking for Success , Learning Disabilities Association, 1999, The Winner’s Circle: Speech-Language Pathologists and Teachers in Action (ASHA, 1995), The Body Manager (1989).
