Alison Auerbach
Alison Auerbach is a research analyst at the American Institutes for Research and serves as the communications coordinator for the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC).
Ms. Auerbach develops publicity materials and organizes outreach activities and public events for the WWC. Ms. Auerbach is responsible for building and maintaining an informed network of education consumers and producers who will contribute to and make use of the research syntheses and on-line databases of the What Works Clearinghouse.
Prior to joining the WWC project, Ms. Auerbach was the director of a national out-of-school time technical assistance initiative at the Urban Family Institute. Â She supervised and contributed to the development of a technical assistance manual and designed and executed workshops, training sessions and conferences. Â While at the Urban Family Institute, Ms. Auerbach also contributed to the development, writing, editing and implementation of a standards-based after-school enrichment curriculum.
Ms. Auerbach is a former teacher both in the US and abroad. Â She taught Spanish immersion, social studies and other subjects at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Â Ms. Auerbach has a B.A. in History from Yale University and a Masters in Elementary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Â
