Information Sharing Communities

People Discussing

Information Sharing Communities (ISCs) are small groups of either states or districts that exchange information and learn about best practices for providing access to the general education curriculum for students with disabilities. Participating state or district representatives share experiences, identify successes and challenges, find topical resources, and problem-solve in a variety of content areas relating to access for students with disabilities. These information sharing communities initially come together for a face-to-face meeting in Washington, DC, and then continue the community through various distance-learning forums, including tele- and video-conferences and a listserv.

The State-to-State ISC met in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Get a copy of the meeting agendas, participant lists, presentation summaries, and lists of resources.

The Center’s urban District-to-District ISC met on February 23, 24 and 25, 2005, and on April 26-28, 2006. Find out more about this unique peer-to-peer community!!
