Jim Knight
Jim Knight has spent the past twenty years studying
and promoting strategies that accelerate the learning process. His research
on Partnership Learning: A New
Approach
for Staff Development has been adopted as the professional development
methodology for the more than 1500 strategies trainers in US and Canada,
and over the past eight years, he has been studying the effectiveness
of Instructional Coaches as change agents in schools. Jim has conducted
research at the Center for Research on Learning since 1992, and he is
currently directing a comprehensive school reform project, GEARUP: Pathways
to Success, with the Topeka, Kansas School District to integrate school-wide
Content Enhancement and Learning Strategy instruction across all six
middle schools and three high schools in the district. Jim has won several
university teaching awards for his work teaching students how to learn.
