Access in Action
Connecting Educators with Resources

Access in Action is the Access Center’s Web database of state profiles and resources developed by states and districts to support access to the general education curriculum for students with disabilities. The exemplary materials stored in the database of resources include curriculum guides, educational videotapes, strategies, IEP guides, and useful web links.

The information stored in the database of state profiles was obtained through a survey administered April to June 2005, as part of collaborative activities between Project Forum at the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE) and The Access Center, to state directors of special education regarding strategies currently being used to enhance access to the general education curriculum. The entire report can be downloaded free through the NASDSE website.

State and district survey data, reviews of state websites, information gathered from state technical assistance liaisons, and both solicited and unsolicited submissions are reflected throughout the Access in Action website. All submitted materials go through a review process before they are posted to ensure that only high quality, useful materials are posted.
