Photo Not AvailableTerry Anstrom, a Senior Research Analyst at AIR, is currently the project manager for PD Impact Study and the Singapore Report and math specialist for the Access Center. For education projects, responsibilities include: 1) for PD Impact Study coordination, scheduling and contractual agreements and implementation of professional development as site monitor for reading and coaching materials for the US Department of Education evaluation of professional development strategies for early reading teachers, 2) project management and comparing and analyzing US state mathematics content and standards with Singapore mathematics syllabus, TIMSS study, PISA and NAEP test results; and 3) serving as a mathematics consultant to the Access Center writes and reviews materials directed toward mathematics strategies to improve achievement for students with learning disabilities.

She received her undergraduate degree in mathematics and teaching credentials for middle and high school at the University of Southern Colorado.  Her graduate work extended her teaching experiences to science education at the University of Mississippi and completion of her administrative certification for principals in Virginia.  She also received a doctoral degree in education leadership at George Mason University.  Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Anstrom was a mathematics curriculum specialist and taught middle and high school mathematics for more than 25 years in diverse schools in Virginia, New York, Kansas, Mississippi, and Colorado. 

She manages and conducts all work related to the development of professional development reading and coaching tasks and scheduling, collaborates with the development and evaluation teams, and coordinates advice from the technical working group and subcontractors.  As administrator of SharePoint collaborative software, she maintains current documents, updates announcements, training schedules, administers surveys and provides links to six district subsites and subcontractor sites. Additional experiences includes content leadership roles in state and federal government projects, The Impact of Professional Development Models and Strategies on Teacher Practice and Student Achievement, Center to Improve Access to the General Education Curriculum for Students with Disabilities at the Elementary and Middle School levels, Evaluation of the Introduction of the Singapore Mathematics Approach in the Schools, a Comparison of US Mathematics and Singapore Mathematics, Voluntary National Test, Moving Mathematics Standards to the Classroom (Goals 2000), and Citywide Proficiency Examinations for the School District of Philadelphia.
