Our Team
Whitney Donaldson joined AIR in December
2003. She is staffed on the Access Center as a Research Analyst. She
works as the Technical Assistance Liaison to the South East Regional
Resource Center (SERRC) and is the Web Coordinator for the TAcommunities
initiative website.
In addition to the Access Center, Whitney works on the National Center
for Student Progress Monitoring, a national center funded by the U.S
Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. Student
Progress Monitoring promotes the use of research-proven progress monitoring
strategies for students in grades K-8, and provides technical assistance
to states and locals implementing progress monitoring. Â
Before coming to AIR, Whitney was employed at the Council for Exceptional
Children. There she worked on the ASPIIRE (Associations of Service Providers
Implementing IDEA Reforms in Education) IDEA Partnership, a U.S. Department
of Education, Office of Special Education Programs funded project to
assist service providers with a better understanding of the IDEA and
its implementation requirements. Whitney was the Training Coordinator
for the IDEA National Resource Cadre. She provided technical assistance
to trainers across the country through venues including national institutes,
resource development, list serves, and videoconferences.
Whitney earned her M.Ed. in Special Education from Texas A&M University
– Commerce and holds teaching certifications in both Special Education
and Psychology from the state of Texas. While living in Texas, Whitney
taught at Hutchinson Junior High School in Lubbock, TX and Allen High
School in Allen, TX as a Special Education Inclusion Teacher. Â
