Our Team
Susan Skipper, AIR Research Analyst, joined AIR in February 2004. She is the Task Leader for the Information Sharing Communities (state and district). In addition, she is the TA Liaison for the Mountain Plains Region; develops math related products; and assists with the annual evaluation of The Access Center. Within these areas, her responsibilities involve helping states and local school districts improve access to the general education curriculum for students with disabilities. Ms. Skipper also works with the Ohio High School Transformation Initiative (OHSTI) as part of the evaluation team, which studies the transformation process of comprehensive high schools into small, autonomous schools.
Prior to coming to AIR, Ms. Skipper worked for sixteen years in the field of education as a special education administrator and special education teacher. As a special education administrator, Ms. Skipper worked to develop inclusive special education programming. Ms. Skipper has worked in both rural and urban school districts.
Ms. Skipper has completed her masters' degree in educational administration from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She is currently enrolled in the doctoral program in Education Policy at the George Washington University in Washington DC.
