Our Team
Maurice McInerney,
Ph.D., Managing Director, is a nationally recognized expert in special
education policy, the translation of research into practice, and the use
of technology to improve results for children with disabilities and their
families. Dr. McInerney is the AIR technical advisor to the Access Center.
Dr. McInerney directs AIR’s Technical Support Task Ordering Contract with the Research to Practice Division at OSEP in which he conducts policy, communication, and evaluation efforts for the division. In this role, he has coordinated the synthesis of research in effective practices for special education academic instruction, including mathematics instruction.
He is a former Mary Switzer Fellow
at the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research, where
he designed and managed research to investigate transition barriers among
youth with disabilities and has been widely published in technical assistance
and assistive technology.
