Claudia EdmondsonClaudia Edmondson, Ph.D, joined AIR as a Research Analyst in the winter of 2005. For the Access Center, she serves as a Technical Assistance Liaison with the Western Regional Resource Center (WRRC) and assists with developing products and presentations for the center. Dr. Edmondson also serves on the Reading Team for the Access Center’s Knowledge Bank and on the Outreach and Web Services Team.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Edmondson was involved in research to investigate effective reading strategies for adults and served as the Program Director for an Adult Literacy Program. She also has over 15 years of experience in disability practice, which has provided her with knowledge of accommodations, respite, technical assistance, assistive technology, augmentative communication, disability law and support for special needs families. Dr. Edmondson is also a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with experience in transition.

Dr. Edmondson received her Ph.D. in Special Education from Utah State University as part of a Special Education Teacher Preparation Grant, which focused on training new special education teachers in distance education using state of the art technology. She has a Master’s in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in Special Education, Psychology and Sociology. In addition, she has specialized training in community counseling, interdisciplinary training and informational technology.
